I had a friend in college who made FAKE ID for students who were under age.

Later in life, living in  Chicago, he stole stain glass windows out of churches.

What I find interesting about this story is that it's like the stories of wire and copper piping being stolen out of houses. It was an indicator of just how valuable copper had gotten.

So it's not that it's an odd thing to steal that piqued my curiosity, but that bees were now valuable enough to inspire organized rings of bee thieves

Our area saw a huge die-off of bees last winter because of prolonged, extreme cold. Our valley is normally one of Manitoba's top honey-producing areas, but production will be way down this year. And of course plants that depend on insects for pollination are affected too. Not a good scene ...
