The restaurant owner who asked for 1-star Yelp reviews

In all these review systems: Yelp or Amazon, I find reading the reviews more helpful than the star ratings.  It's more cumbersome, but I'm looking for patterns which stars alone just don't show.

Getting off track a bit, but yesterday I bought screen protectors for 2 different phones at amazon. I decided to peruse the reviews as sometimes these can be finicky to install.

Almost every. single. one. was a different product than what the reviews covered. Hundreds of reviews, 4.5 stars and up, and none of the reviews were for the actual product. I'm talking viewing 12-15 different products to find a legit one with real reviews. The reviewed products weren't a close mismatch either; a cooking utensil, sweater, mower, etc. instead of a hardened glass screen protector.

Between this and counterfeit products, Amazon is really slipping.

I agree with patterns of repeated compliments/complaints. I get equal value from a quick scroll through the photos.
