I'm betting that the average US home doesn't have the hardwire firepower lying about the house to accommodate 2 work-at-home parents and 2-3 school-at-home kids.  According to recent stats, everybody but Mackin & I had ditched their keyboards in favor of phones.

I'd sure as hell would hate to grind through my school assignments on a phone.

Also, whose making the pipes bigger? This is going to be a barge-load of daily data.

Vodafone has 18 million customers in the UK, where data usage is already up 30% and is likely to rise as the government's strategy follows that of its European neighbours. The group said in the UK data usage increases are starting much earlier in the day, from lunchtime, reflecting the switch to working from home. The peak of usage remains 6pm to 8pm.

My company is a week into mandatory remote working. Going pretty smoothly in the main but the emerging pain points are, well, pain points...

So many are working off laptops, no external kit. No proper desk or suitable chair.

There's a chunk of the workforce in shared apartments with multiple people all sharing the broadband and limited space.

Then there's those with kids at home and varying degrees of home office set up.

The noise is all positive and shit is getting done, but a new type of pain likely to reveal itself over the next week or two.

Chiropractors and osteopaths are the c19 winners in H2.

The infrastructure in Denmark is OK and we have not had any network problems. Hower, big companies and government institutions don't have the VPN capacity to handle all the home office connections bit after a week most have made the necesary modifications.
