There's a good chance that it won't be all that necessary by then.

That said, when I thought in 2004 that by the time I was ready to replace that car, it would be hard to buy an ICE car. And yet, I'm ready to replace it and it's still hard to make the case for EV in my situation (rural, need AWD).
