I am massively happy with my local-only smarthome & appliances decision.  The brains over there are chipping away at local-only security cameras but smart enough to differentiate between motion sources.  I think they have it, but I'll wait until they smooth it out and maybe apply it to ridiculously cheap wyzecams.  There's also a distant rumble of developing local-only voice control in order to ditch Alexa.
