This is laughable. Bluehost is owned by EIG, which is the worst group of webhosts out there. Oversold servers with crap service and even worse support. Bluehost is absolute dogshit so this invalidates anything else he has to say.

Agreed. Bluehost/HostGator expanded rapidly through mediocre offering and really really generous affiliate payouts (like $130 for a <$10 account). I guess they have been a great supporter of WP.  But it's the same company as Network Solutions, which I think of as parasitic (I haven't looked at their pricing in years***, but they spent 20 years stuck at 1995 pricing while everyone around them dropped and they were the worst domain frontrunner in the business until Go Daddy figured out how to play that game too).

On the other hand Go Daddy, which I generally think of as a terrible registrar, now owns ManageWP and Sucuri, both of which I think of as very positive additions to the WP ecosystem.
