Why coffee shops, cities, cars, movies and people all suddenly look the same.

Interesting take on the current day.

With cars, I noticed this acutely when we got a new car. In the past, as soon as I acquired a new car, I saw that model everywhere. This time it didn't happen. I realized that is mostly because half the models on the road made in the last few years look just like our car. I can't tell my Hyundai from a Toyota from a Honda from a six more brands.

And I keep thinking we have hit peak superhero, but each year even more movies tend to be some sort of superhero.

I wasn't alive to know the conformism of the 1950s, but my older friends often lament it. This article argues that we are there again, just this time we pretend it's glitzy and expressive.

Good article ergo and I think it's spot on.

Cars have been same-same for quite awhile and I didn't think it could get worse but it has.  And I can't tell them apart either.  We used to wait with anticipation for the new car models to come out, but now nobody cares they are all boring both exteriors and interiors.  It's so boring that if somebody brought out a car with massive tail fins I think it would sell.

Architecture: everything looks like a new McDonald's on the outside.
