referral spam is way, way up compared to where it use to be.

BTW, this is really handy if you like to work in shell:
[root@server ~]# tail -n N /path/to/domain.log |awk -F\" '{print $4}'  | sort | uniq -c | sort -nr|grep -v domain.org |less
Replace the 'N' with the number of rows you want to see.

Yandexbot has become a very frequent visitor compared to past years.

Possibly related to that:  I did some searches on Yandex and, while I can't prove it, I just got the impression that Yandex has significantly expanded and improved it's English language index.

I am seeing a lot of fake traffic from primarily but not exclusively Russian sites.  I am thinking it's to eventually end up in a lot of low level link/stats pages as a way of gaming link popularity.
