I wonder how BYD-made vehicles fair when subjected to US vehicle regs (crumple zones, bumper heights, crash tests, etc)?

'Course, if the vehicle is cheap we don't care.  As testament, look at the old Japanese golf-cart pickups we're importing. They look about as safe in the cabin as an early 70s VW van.

I was surprised to learn that the cheapest BYD (the one that is $5K-$6K) had something like 4 or 6 airbags.
