True story - I was almost denied publication of my first academic paper because the vice-president of the society found it too funny when I delivered it in public. She read the print version and declared it "much better" until I told her it was word for word the text I had delivered. She said, "Well, it was too hard to take it as serious scholarly work with everyone smiling and laughing."

The president of the society, who was the one who wanted it published, congratulated me for making a normally dry subject (John Calvin and the Geneva Reformation) fun, but he was not a university academic so he had a different set of priorities.

If only I had had ChatGPT to jargonize it for me.
