I can totally see why people do it, even though I'd never be able to myself.  One of the best things I ever did was a parachute jump, and this must top that by absolute miles....

Did a freefall once...  but squirrel jumping....  he gets that close to the ground.  How much control can he have on his descent? 

i get the feeling that he was putting everything into getting over that knoll where the photographer was.
