is there a way to claim a community page on facebook?

I mean one of those created with wikipedia data - its a wierd scenario where the community page is actually about a company, but outranking their official facebook page on brand searches. I can advise throwing some links at the official page, but it would make more sense to claim this one - except I can't see any mechanism to do it!

I'd love to know how to do that as well. I have a similar situation where the Wiki page is outperforming the real company page in the results.

heh - well after a bit of a rummage I found their actual page was only visible when logged in, which wouldn't be helping much in the SERPs

No, you can't right now, afaik. You couldn't, then you could, then you couldn't. if you don't see a 'claim this page' link, you can't.
