Facebook Offers New Messaging Tool

This service creeps me out more than the AOL offering. A combo of IM, chat and e-mail all controlled by FB. <shudder>

Before this announcement I read some people speculating that this sort of walled-garden approach to a communication service could spell the end of traditional e-mail spam. That may be wishful thinking.

it may creep us out but its going to be very interesting to see whether it creeps the general popuplation out.

It won't bother them at all. I have some mates who already use fb in that way. Onlyway I can get hold of the dude in fact since he only checks his main email infrequently.

It will fly. People trust fb. They even trust google even when we getnews items about robbing data on street data collecting.

SEL has a writeup with screen shots of the new system. If you get in you'll get invites for others to use the system apparently.
