Google not only reserves the right to take away or vaporize our data for any reason, but it also reserves the right to discontinue services, the means to access it, whenever it wants. It does this more often than you probably realize and most recently with Google Reader, which disappears on July 1.

In the end he started doing what I have: spread things around into a number of baskets.  Internet Bubble #1 got me doing that. 

I especially don't trust Google or Apple very much when it comes to their walled garden ecosystems, and while I have some things on Google the only one I might have a hard time with losing would be calendar.
