somewhat related, I finally got around to setting up my own call tracking system... I didn't realize you could record people *while the phone is ringing.* Crazy!

the company still advises users to take the battery out of their phone if they really want to be sure their phone is off. 

Do many modern phones allow that?

Like most of these 'shocking' exploits this relies on you having rooted the phone and not updated your OS. Always going to be a dangerous combination.
