One of my best times ever was a week-long bottle rocket war in a cul-de-sac of college student rental houses.  This thing would have finished the opposition quickly  ......and burned down a few houses.

I can remember bottle rocket wars using bamboo as launch "rifles".

Luckily I had moved on once they graduated to shotguns with rocksalt shells.

We used those cheap, flat curtain rods with the groove in the back.  The windows of the 6 or so opposing houses bristled with launchers.

I grew up with 5 brothers. I often give young parents of boys this bit of (uneasy) knowledge:

If your boys are home, you can count on at least one fire being started daily somewhere around the house or the yard.
