In the old days we would have been carpet-bombed with ads. PR, and spun news across all major media.  *IF* we are now even modestly sensitive to fake news and social manipulation, I wonder if they adjust their game plan?

In business & family matters, I use what I call 'transference' to analyze the situation --usually a request for money.  EX: An adult family member who smokes will ask for help with rent. While still smoking.  You're not helping with rent, you're buying cigarettes.  Same goes for NRA's accounting departmentalization.
