I was approached on LinkedIn by an Angel investor seeking a consultant that could help him analyze a site from top to bottom from an SEO standpoint.  I think I would be ok for him,  but, as you know, I'm completely obsessed with my own project atm to really want to get too far sidetracked... so I told him, he could bounce things off me as a personal friend, and I'd find him some serious candidates to look at in my absence..

Basically, he buys smaller to medium sized companies, and he needs a conversion oriented SEO (who knows about everything) to basically know what to get involved with, what to stay away from... and the stuff he keeps, how to make maximum money off it by balancing and optimizing everything, every which way.

That may sound like a job description for a bunch of people in here but let me say, he's a Wharton Undergrad and a Stanford MBA, and he's not in his position because he's lucky:) I spent an hour on the phone with him.  He's bright and fun to talk to.  He is looking for someone more knowledgeable than him, and FYI you aren't going to slide through on your bullshit, so don't even waste my time.  This guy may even fund my newest venture, so you have to go through me first:)

So if you know me, it may be to your advantage.  But if I don't, now is your time to step up to the plate if you are interested in a new client:) This is not a first come first serve thing... just send me an email here, if I need anything more I'll ask you, and if I think we have a match, we may have a short call, depending on who you are.  Be ready to disclaim your rate upfront though, just so I can offer a service with a price tag, not just an uncomfortable moment at the end of a conversation.

I might be crazy, but I'm not unreasonable:)  This is a good opportunity for the right person.  LMK in an email if you want to be considered... nothing public will be posted either way, so don't be bashful:)

...oh, and yes, this is a part time consulting gig, no need to move to NYC.

Ok, I got a couple candidates already that expressed an interest, and I'm going to write him today with my thoughts, but I forgot to ask...

This guy came to me not really as just an SEO, but because I had experience converting traffic into money.   In particular, he was impressed by my lifetime Adsense 17.9% CTR, and that I had lead gen sites that converted 1:8 into paid leads. Basically, he is buying sites and needing to figure out how to maximize the income once the user is on the page, without screwing the page up from an SEO standpoint. So he is keenly interested with someone that knows how to improve adsense CTR, and leveraging other ad networks... so the question to you is, do have anything special on this front that I can pitch to him?

Ok, I ended up getting 4 inquiries, and am happy to say all were easily good enough for me to refer on to the VC in good faith... so that is exactly what I did.  I imagine he and I will speak again this week, then he will figure out on his own who he calls, etc, because honestly, all 4 legitimately have a shot at the position, and he may very well choose more than one, depending on his needs.  Also, this may be my last conversation with him, you never know... but I did my part in trying to pass this on to one of you.

Good luck.
