Google thinks i'm on a Mac

Got a sign-in security alert from G, my location, my IP but the device was a Mac, there are no Macs on my LAN, is G just crap at figuring which OS you're on, not made that mistake with me before ?

Are yu using any type of VPN or proxy to access google services?

No, unfortunately since switching to vodafone none of my VPN software works, i swapped the router out and it worked again so they are behaving badly, they also block all the VPN software sites, but they don't state it in their policies, very bad form.
