Microsoft Word's read-aloud feature

I've had a significant editing job hit my inbox, a doctoral dissertation about 25,000 words.

I had never before used the read-aloud feature in Microsoft Word, as I don't usually use Word, but with this document I'm finding it really useful.

It's a computer voice, but hearing the words as well as reading them revealed some details to polish that escaped notice when simply reading.

Good to know it exists!  As a dyslexit person who reads slower than the average person I read along with TTS engines regularly.  I find the Google translate voice one of the easiest to listen to.  There is a FF extension that will automatically send text to a google translation page, I use it often.

I use LibreOffice and I was curious if there was a TTS plugin for it, turns out there is!  Its kind of nice because it will use a native TTS engine or shove the content to google if you want to use that.
