I'm 18 miles inland from the Atlantic Ocean and we now have a code Orange air quality alert due to the fires 3000 miles away on the west coast.  Everything is blue-grey hazy.

That was a very good article.  Thanks for posting it ergo.  It sounds like, even if we do everything right with water conservation in the West, a lot of people are going to take a huge hit right on the chin.  My take is that there are too many people all trying to survive on the same rapidly diminishing water supply.  Something is going to give.  There is no way to conserve our way out of it.  If I was in the US West I'd be looking to sell and move before property values plummet.

The climate shift was really THE top reason we sold the strip at the beach.  Right now, the coastal regions are in a state of denial but I'm seeing more & more real estate articles pushing buyers to begin factoring in the risks.

This is on our minds all the time. We want to stay here as long as we're fit enough to climb, hike, trail run, but we do wonder whether the water supply in the West will give out before our bodies do.
