I'd like to see a closeup of that bike.  It looks like a heavy cruiser, but I'm thinking it must have been modified in some ways to be a better hill climber.

That guy is totally crazy. He got within six feet of some of those spectators and wasn't wearing a mask. Maybe the video was taken pre-Delta.

I think it's a straight street bike. The way he had to keep the throttle up and just rode it out, I'm pretty sure those are slicks.

I think he just got bored during lockdown and decided he'd try riding a motorcycle.

PS - I bought my first motorcycle when I was 14 with money I had made from farm labor and shoveling snow and other things a 14 yo could do (and, fortunately, whose family did not need him to contribute that money to anything useful). Most kids went for motocross bikes. For reasons I don't remember, I bought a 80cc Yamaha trials bike. I was really into hill climbs and obstacles, but was never that good at it, mostly because I just went up the same hills and over the same logs day after day. All that torque (for an 80cc anyway) and maneuverability was cool, but when I got my first job at 16, I got a used motocross bike because trials bikes have very low top speeds.

Anyway, I still find both machine-powered and human-powered trials riding interesting and cannot believe how much they've progressed. Riding that would have made you a world champ in 1975 won't get you to the finals of a regional comp today.
