Here's a fellow re-implementing them in a way for the modern web. The idea is to make blogs and RSS better.

Hmmm.... I've wondered how to make RSS more useful/discoverable. That's an interesting idea.

I put in a test blog and the top result was, in fact, a site I had never heard of on a very tangential subject, but one that interests me a lot.
