MacOS from a windows fanboy

Well, ex fanboy. I'm still mad about what they did to win7 with the mobile shoehorn and cannot believe they never cleaned it up.

So I decided recently I want to try a mac to see what the fuss is all about, since a 13" macbook air recently dropped to 750 on sale.

Welp, in short, I'm sold. I love the interface and the hardware. I've always lived with little Windows quirks due to different hardware configs, but now that software side is a mess too, there is no comparison.

I'm a long ways from replacing my daily driver workstations, but I can see it happening at some point. For now, the power and versatility over a chromebook is a boon and I love the look and feel of the whole kit. It blows away similarly priced windows offerings. I should have done this sooner.

I get it, the samples of the later MS OSs I've tried are quite annoying.  I switched my wife over to MintOS (a user friendly Linux distro based on Debain) and I was expecting a lot of fussing as she made the transition, but there's be no complaints at all.  I think we've been to opposite of spoiled by MS in the last 10 years.  Honestly, I think as far as interfaces go MS peaked with Win98.

The first time I dumped Windows was with WinMe.  I bought an eMac.  It was nice having a rock solid OS in OS X for a change.

I came back to Windows for Win7, and I agree Win7 was pretty good.  I think it was all the software for Win that lured me back.

I also played with Linux with distros both good and bad and I'm on Ubuntu now and likely to stay.
