The Preview Link option works well and is handy for the user. I use it several times a day and that is likely to increase when I get better at remembering that it's available.

But for the site owner, it going to 1) kill the curious and/or clickbait clickthru. 2) According to my history, it doesn't count as a visit. I'd bet that site analytics won't show it.
