The thing is, my bank and Netflix and many others already ban access via VPN.

So if it turns out there is real liability there, they'll just ban known VPNs

I never actually used it. I have Freedom on my phone and it has a Freedom Profile (which I have not installed) that forces you into their VPN. If you install it, pretty much all banking apps will stop working.
