The Human Genome Project sequenced five individuals for one billion dollars.

He sequenced one individual five times for 10k and the marginal cost seems to be under $100 (I didn't try to follow the math carefully of how many reactions he got from each batch of reagents)

Even at the high end, that's 100,000 times cheaper.  If he does a bunch more it will be a millions times cheaper.
