So my little Bulgarian girlfriend and I decided to take a trip to Colorado to blow off some steam, so we booked a cheap flight and rental package, and went for it...

Denver => Winter Park => Rock Mtn Nat. Park => Vail => Glenwood Springs => Aspen => Grand Mesa => Telluride => Durango => Pagosa Springs => Wolf Creek => Denver

...about 1400 miles in a little Kia that had no idea what it was in for.  I took it up and down mountains and through one small creek to clean off the under carriage I kept dragging on the high spots of the dirt roads I kept taking at every opportunity:)

Here are a few of the pics....

We only spent like $1500 for everything.  My only regret was not having my bike there to ride. Otherwise, Colorado is still my favorite state.

BTW, back in 2002 I was the Colorado Mountain Musher's 10 dog Mid Distance Point Champion.  I also lived in Snowmass Village for a year too.

And the pictures don't do it justice.  Seriously.

nice one dogboy

did you take the photo of the stag just before you blew its head off with the arsenal of weapons you have and got it on the BBQ ASAP :)
I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible. But, pissing everyone off is a piece of cake!

...ok, make that only TWO regrets:) heeheheh Nah, that was actually in the National Park, which means no hunting.  In fact, if you look at that bull, you can see he's young (in the face and his rack is big, but not thick yet) but he has excellent genes and someday will be a massive bull, with his own heard of cows. Handsome guy:)

But I actually didn't bring any guns with me, which was the first (and the last) time that is going to happen.  I have a long history with bears trying to camp with me (in both my tent and truck) and trouble has always followed me around, despite best camping practices.  Also have been charged by moose, but that is another story...

But yeah, fairly epic trip.  Very cool to tap into that part of my head again.  Between living outside and dogs, I have an enormous amount of specialized knowledge I can't really use anymore, so it was cool to sneak back into my previous life, even if it was for a week.

The fact that you are not there on the Monster ....but a Kia, is the only thing stopping me from being really jealous.  If you start telling us you have had some great outdoor sex this weekend I am leaving the core..... ;)

Well, the last time I posted pictures I got in a lot of trouble... even in the old private site... so based on experience, I will happily accept the title of 'Gentleman' this time around ;D

Wow.  Colorado looks dry as tinder...I didn't know they were feeling the drought as much as we are...

you what was really bad?  Those damn 'Pine Beetles' killed about 1/2 of all the pine trees out there.... the trees now stand dead and bare.  No matter what, CO is going to burn epic big.  It's just a matter of time.  The forests are loaded with fuel and they will burn very hot.
