Virtual assistant.  Rec'd generally good reviews in the tech journals I read.  Currently free.  Iphone only, probably forever that way since Apple bought the developer.

A friend of mine has that installed... I suppose some day soon it will seem perfectly normal for someone to hold their phone up like a star trek communicator & ask it for dinner recommendations, but frankly it's just damn weird to me. lol

That's a great idea, but it appears to be limited to US info.

I call it the hamburger locater.  Seems like all I ever use it for is finding food joints.  It's a nice fusion of technologies and easy to use when I can't type. Doesn't use Google so that is a plus.

Maybe I talk funny but I don't get good results beyond: "Hamburger, pizza, Chinese, etc." the rest seem too complex.

Perhaps it's expertise is based on the sheer number of requests in that niche.  It learns by doing.  I doubt it's a coincidence that the first emergence of Facebook places into the geo-serps was also restaurant recommendations.
