Nice effects.

On a side note, can't you just buy hollowpoints?

dogboy

I just thought the software bumped it up a notch.  In a sea of do it your self videos, this one stood out a little for that reason.

...And yeah, you can get them anywhere, this video is more for the purist... or the cheap bastard:) LOL nah, some guys just like to hand load their own. Kinda like tying flies and leaders, if you fly fish; it's much easier to buy them but there is more satisfaction if you do it yourself.

.. and why in earth would you want hollow tipped bullets? Wont they make a huge mess when they hit something?

Yep, that's the point. ;-)

The energy is expelled quicker and generally inside the "thing" that has been shot rather than passing straight through.

It's generally the preferred style of round in urban areas, as much as anything to ensure the risk of damaging / hitting someone beyond the target is minimised as well as ensuring that once someone/thing is shot it stays down.

Ironically, and for exactly the reasons above they are also illegal under the Geneva convention to be used in war.

Yes, 'full metal jackets' are the only ones allowed in war because they don't fragment and are easier to take out of the wounded. People also fill the hole with plastic or lead if they dont want it to be hollow for wind resistance, or because certain guns dont like flat-nosed, hollow rounds.

...so what kind of software made that?  It looks totally canned, but professional enough to make a simple do it your self video look pretty 'pro'.

These are the best:

They have a small pin or post inside the hollow point. Causes extra damage.

>so what kind of software made that?

I've seen similar stuff done in Vegas.

this is what I shoot deer with, in .270 Weatherby, by Nosler...
