You were *supposed* to say "you don't know Danish, RC."  hhh

JamesR

Disappointed, thought these were going to be gun pics ;)

rcjordan

Hey ol' boy.

>gun pix

I pick and choose my fights so that I can win, Jim.  I've seen the armament pile down is SC. I can't even get close.

Hi back rc and nffc - its those reminder emails, made me feel guilty for not showing up and posting ;)

Good to know they work.  Always nice to see you posting Jimmy.

Drastic

Have I ever mentioned I am obsessive?

Looks good. Now is the time to go into Full Predator mode while out prowling for deals. Winter. Cold. Wet. Broke because of Christmas. Property taxes due. Income taxes coming due.

Drastic

>Now is the time to go into Full Predator mode

Yep, exactly what I've been doing.

Oddly enough, sport bikes are still held in high regard. I looked at a ZX6R priced about right a couple days ago, looked at it as soon as they got home, within hours of it being posted on CL. Their phone was burning up with calls after I called, and while I was there checking it out. It was just about unsafe to ride it was in such bad shape though.

Everybody else is 1k or more above book, or ragged out bike, or both.

I picked up a daily driver VW Thing for $2k mid-December. Good deal since it has the bolt-on hardtop and some spare parts. The hardtops alone go for 600.

That makes 2 Things with hardtops in inventory.

Brad

>VW Thing

All of the Things North of the Mason - Dixon line have rusted out.  I always wanted one.

2008-2009 were the years to find good deals on Honda Gold Wings and assorted cruiser motorcycles, around here as people were laid off from the steal mills as the economy collapsed.  People were pushing bikes and vintage cars on the front lawn with For Sale signs.

We might see times like that again soon.  Might be time to pick up a small used cruiser.

rcjordan

>People were pushing bikes and vintage cars on the front lawn with For Sale signs.

Yeah, it was wall-to-wall Harleys and Gold Wings around here.  I still see some "NEED IT GONE TODAY!!" every now and then.

>VW Thing

There was one in Miami yesterday for 5k. Soft top, though.

I'm just looking for a beater to tow behind the coaches. As it turns out, Things are considered one of the best toads ever made.  I'm getting the floor pans cut out and replaced with aluminum diamond plate. Screw rust.

Brad

There was a Thing in nice shape (restored) for sale about a year ago, it went fast.  It must of been from the South, VW used pre rusted panels on Things.  Beetles held up better.

Has anyone looked at the 2012 - 2013 VW Beetle?  I test drove one, sweet.  Surprising amount of room.  I may lease one come Spring.

Yeah, but all the surfaces are flat and square --a dab of Bondo here, a splash of Bondo there, hit it with the sander, some primer, and pretty soon you have what's known as a Carolina Classic.

>went fast

Yeah, they're plenty of them if you want to pay 14k

>2012-2013

No, but I did rent a Fiat 500 recently just to try it out. The front seating area is huge. Back seats, not so much.

Enjoy it Drastic, I have had one of those in black for a few years now. Love it to bits.

Often have a trip to Wales on it, 350 miles of windy roads in a day, and not really tired.  Have been know to carry my mountain bike on the back too.

How are you finding it?
