QuoteThe group's site cablegate.wikileaks.org linked to servers run by Amazon Web Services in Seattle, as well as to French company Octopuce. Wikileaks.org, the site's front page, linked back to Amazon servers in the U.S. and in Ireland.
Cheeky  ;D

Apparently the DDoS attack on wikileaks is work of patriotic hacker
QuoteA patriot-hacker called The Jester has previously used the XerXeS attack tool to attack jihadist sites. Now, if rumours are to be believed this tool was turned against Wikileaks on Sunday, making the site unavailable at a critical time.
Bit futile seeing as major newspaper have the data in advance, and parts of the data are available for download on bittorent

There's also a wikileaks encrypted insurance file on bittorrent released months ago - rumour is it contains all the original data , and should anything happen to Assange the key will be made aviliable to unlock the data  :P

all a bit bonkers really.

I think the real issue is not the data in the documents but the fact it was so freely available.

What, more sensitive stuff is out there just floating about.

Not too sure at to why releasing these documents is of much benefit to society, but "don't shoot the messenger" makes a lot of sense here.

The news this morning is saying they got kicked off the Amazon servers today.... not to mention getting added to the Interpol Most Wanted list

Seems like they should be worrying more about how "important top seekrit" stuff keeps getting leaked. If wikileaks goes down, someone else will step up to take their place.

Someone should have showed them how to use TrueCrypt, PGP or GnuPG.
