Has anyone ever run ads on LinkedIn? Please share your experience
Not running anything yet but was considering it - my main concern as of now before any real experience is how precise their targeting is I guess - with people labelling themselves whatever they wish rather than sticking to linkedin's built in categories, and no option to search for actual terms mentioned in the descriptions (or have I missed it?)

No, last I looked though they were expensive.

we do ads for two clients - one targets a specific group for some pro bono work, and that has a degree of success in terms of clicks, but the process completes offline so we can't track actual conversions accurately.

The other targets job ads at specific middle management jobs in a relatively niche area. That is a success in terms of click to application, but as you say with people labelling themselves its hard to know what the quality of that application is, we're currently trying to improve the tracking so we can get an end to end feedback loop and see if the people its driving are the good ones or the bad ones! Thats not just a problem with linkedin though, in terms of recruitment.

We also buy in emailing lists for the pro bono work and I think they report as performing slightly better for clicks but not sure how the CPA breaks down.
