It does make you wonder why G hasn't no followed links on their own platforms?

Because they've made G+ inherently hard to spam. You can't schedule posts. You can't autopost from other services. It's hard to have hundreds of accts and for them not to know it and even if you could, the lack of automation makes it hard to do anything en masse

And most of all, they know so much about the G+ link profile because they have access *all* associated info - who, when, where (at least by IP if not even more accurate means like phone GPS) and so on and so on.

In short, they would never need to nofollow links from a G+ account because they have sources of data on those links that tell them so much about them.

well, not really, because nofollow and dofollow are meant to differentiate between how much you can vouch for the page being linked to, not for the quality of the person doing the linking. Surely if its dofollow by default they should provide an option to make it nofollow, by their own definition?

and is pinterest now dofollow again? I thought they went NF? Hmm...
