Google wants nofollow links in press releases

At lease according to one guy who works for Google.  Honestly, after watching the video, it feels like the response was off the cuff and not necessarily based on anything concrete.

i think g has learned from the mass following of the cuttlets that they can simply suggest some things they'd like to see and it happens to a large extent.

I am pretty sure they said somewhere that they do not count press release links, so which is it, they don't matter or use a nofollow -- feels like some FUD.

For a search engine built on "links" they must be finding it very hard these days, what with ignoring almost every link.

Me, I think every link counts, nofollow, dofollow, youfollow, followfollow. Even if it doesn't, a good link is a good link.

I think so too, we're in an age of overused nofollows.  There is no way those aren't counted in some means.

There is a footprint for these, like anything else, so our job is to mimic nature.  I don't build anything anymore unless it is genuinely unique and worthy of promoting by press release or otherwise.
