In March 2013, Geoffrey Hinton and two of his graduate students, Alex Krizhevsky and Ilya Sutskever, were hired by Google. Their work will be focused on both improving existing machine learning products at Google (such as the Android) and also help deal with the growing amount of data Google has. Google also purchased Hinton's company, DNNresearch, for an undisclosed sum of money.
