How long until my PPC campaign shows my ad in SERPs ?

I'm doing a test advert with google adwords.

After setting up the campaign you are told that it will take effect 'almost immediately'.

I read in an article that it can take up to five days, considering i've only payed up until Friday midnight that's a bit scarey !

I've checked that everything is active and enabled and all my details are correct.

Anyone have any experience with this ?

The campaign status has just gone from Eligible to Approved so i suppose i just have to wait.
