1: Safari to Include DuckDuckGo as a Built-In Search Option
Speculation..
2: Apple buys DuckDuckGo
3: Apple makes DDG the default search on Safari

It makes no sense to me that Apple doesn't get into the search business.

Hey, Debbie says that's a pretty good speculation and wonders why she didn't think of it.  I told her she's getting old.

Apple is chasing G on the smarthome front. Might as well add search to the mix while they're at it.

Surely adding it to safari or making it default would hugely increase the company value.  Doesn't make much sense to do both before then trying to buy it.

Possibly testing user experience if using ddg before preceding to steps 3 then 2? Seems a long shot and not very apple.  More likely just trying to about Google.

At least somebody at Apple is paying attention.

DDG just expanded their search offerings with news, local, photos, and stuff so they are of more use to Apple across many devices.

Rooftop, I had to check to make sure I wasn't doing an order reversal.  Yeah, they would definitely buy DDG before making it default.  I don't think adding DDG as the non-default option will cause its value to shoot up that much, especially when all the increase in user base could be turned off at will by Apple.  I remember that is exactly what Yahoo did to Inktomi to make their stock crash right before they bought them out for something like $1.50/share.
