I nabbed icanhaz.science after seeing some young entrepreneurs hoover up all the popular ones. 20 euros renewal per year, so there's the catch.

One person just took the alexa top sites and registered the .science variant. He had quite a few cease and desists within 24 hours, and the domains weren't even pointing anywhere.
