A varmint hunting robot I would pay big bucks for.

My whole neighborhood is being overrun by rabbits and chipmunks which find refuge here from the coyotes which roam the surrounding woods.

I'd pay big money if someone would invent a hunter/killer outdoor robot to go after these critters.  I envision two versions:

1. Humane Suburban Rated Version.  This would chase said critters around firing laser aimed Nerf guns (foam rubber projectiles) at them.  Object: annoy them so much the critters move along. Must sing, "Kill the wabbit!" in an Elmer Fudd voice while chasing.

2. Texas/Rural Version. Shoots real shotgun shells.  Texas only version could also be used in urban areas cos Texicans are used to that sort of thing.  Must sing "Kill the Wabbit!" so you know it's on the hunt.

We had a large pack of coyotes that roamed our neighborhood, but they dissipated in the harsh winter of 2011. Since then, it has been a struggle to keep gophers and deer from eating everything in sight.

I think if you found the one food coyotes couldn't exist and put it out for a month, then took it away, the rabbit population would go into decline.

I'd buy this version for my kids

I never thought about the kid angle.  This could be big.

Family fun that also prepares them for the terminator scenario.

You don't need to invent one, just invest in a greyhound.  They are THE rabbit hunters.

A slight modification of an autonomous gun turretlink below would do the trick, Brad.

Pros/Bonus: Brainwave controller. Look Ma, no hands!

Cons: #Terminator

Except, some days, I have the attention span of a mutt. "Squirrel!"  Still that's my problem and this is progress.  Thanks.

What about one of those high pitched sound makers that the varmints can hear but humans can't?

Or a terrier?

rcjordan

Hyper-sound seems to only work for teenagers. Rodents don't care.

Got one.  Might be working, I have it aimed through the lattice to direct the sound under the front porch.  The whole subdivision is now lousy with bunnies.

>terrier

I keep half hoping the coyotes will come into the subdivision from the surrounding woods and have a go at the rabbits and chipmunks too, but they don't seem keen.  Probably for the best.
