Yesterday, I also read somewhere that engagement time of existing users had fallen noticeably, too.

The demographic is just flattening across age groups with the ain't-cool to be on facebook kicker if you're under 30.

Why is this group so desirable when only about half actually have some disposable income?

I think it's because that younger age group will switch brands and try new products and things.  Older demographics settle on certain brand items and mostly buy the same brand item over and over.
