That thought was what was behind my comment that we missed the window of opportunity to diplomatically recognize Taiwan as a country. I don't think we'd dare now.

We'll see what historians say in 100 years (well, actually, I suppose none of us will), but increasingly, I read people talking about the "neo-liberal presidents," which is basically Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama. One thing Trump did do was call into question the neo-liberal orthodoxy and the US position on China. That's one area where Biden has not tried to roll back Trump policy.
