That's a beautiful looking engine.  The "water injection" part sparked my interest.  It seems like it is borrowing tech from WW2 fighter planes where they used water injection to variably increase compression and prevent knock.  It is an interesting process and really viable of not very convenient for consumer level use.

IIRC, in the late 60s there was a DIY kit to inject water vapor by connecting it to a vacuum tube.   I had one, probably on the Coronet's 383.

Found it!

How did it work for you?  There are a few guys on YT who are legitimately working on practical application of the idea.  You have to weed through the noise of the "free energy" hordes who think water injection can make a Ford LTD get 100mpg though.

I remember these from the 1970's and early 1980's, post OPEC oil embargo.  Like LM said, most people were trying to increase fuel mileage on their gas guzzling cars, before Detroit finally got around to downsizing cars/engines.

It's been 50 years but -IIRC- it did increase RPMs slightly while idling.    But I apparently wasn't impressed enough to keep using it very long. I also recall playing with water and a 4-barrel by removing the air filter and using a spray bottle.

What DID impress me was Marvel Mystery Oil.  We used it pretty much on a lot of vehicles.   I had a small version of this oiler mounted on the Healey's firewall.
