Reminds me of the companies I've mentioned that would scrape our hotel booking engine, then underbid us by $50/night on Google Ads for a 2-night stay, but then add a $180 booking fee. And then once they got the money from the customer, they would make the reservation, but to the customer it looked like they were booking with the hotel.
Booking.com was not a problem. They had access at the API level to the booking engine. The part about not having the customer info was a problem though. If there was a fire or a winter road closure, there was no way for the hotel to contact the guests directly, so they would not get any of our pre-arrival communication.
