>What about white lists and mails getting through

I'd NEVER run it off my own host. Once that box/host/ip gets reported to Spamcop et all, then you're toast and delivery rate will crash. Pay someone to make sure you're getting though imo.

That's easy.

Web Development / Google Adsense Wordpress Plugin?
« on: November 02, 2010, 12:14:06 PM »
Been running Adsense Manager for a long time and it did the work. However it's outdated and not kept up-to-date. Now I installed Yaost SEO plugin to handle titles and some indexing stuff, but the SEO plugin conflicts with the old Adsense plugin and now I need another option - preferrably one that will import all the channels etc. from the old plugin.

Any takers? or have ya'll been booted from Adsense these days (we have on one account) ;-)

That would be my take as well. Scrape all you want, but provide me with a link.

Sure, they need the ctr and click stats. Gives you the ability to send an email to only the people who clicked a specific link :)

Monetization / Cookie length
« on: November 01, 2010, 04:20:08 PM »
Recently we had another affiliate tip us that a local network was offering ridiculous short cookie lengths. In fact we tested it and some of the programs where only delivering session based cookies, other were a few days, some 10 and a small fraction was 30 days. Problem is that they don't give any information on cookies on their programs.

Usually we expect at least 30 days, but push for 45/60.

I contacted the network for an explanation and the reason they gave was that a lot of their programs are being set up by large advertising agencies who uses the big tracking systems like Doubleclick, Bluestreak, Adform etc. and those systems can't handle longer cookies.

Therefore they had to accept short cookies in order to prevent sales being deleted by the agency that where made after the cookie length. BS if you ask me, but that was the reason.

So, how important do you feel cookie length is?

And do you think the network is full of it or do you have any experience with agencies not able to handle cookies for a longer period of time?

Been using Aweber for a while on a couple of Danish language lists. Awesome delivery rates and ok interface with bells and whistles. SHITTY handling of Danish characters though.

The Spy is pretty cool too. Real time live stats on the users on your site right now.

We're seeing a lot of "on demand tv" popping up. More and more TV stations are offering their stuff on a pay-for stream.

I added an Adsense keyword block to a site the other day. Just a narrow line of 5 adsense "keyword ads" that link to an G search.

Thought it would live a quiet life, but gave an extra $10-15 bucks a day - somebody's click that stuff.

We've used www.getclicky.com for simple visitor tracking. It's free for small accounts and rather inexpensive if you have many. They have a great api and we pull data into our own apps.

Might wanna check it out.
