First thought: great article and Google comes off looking far far far from the "Don't be evil" beginnings.
Second thought: it is super sad that there is nothing surprising in there.
Third thought: in the free stuff that I had forgotten about that can't pay for itself as a separate business, GA would have to be at the top of the list. It's whole reason for being is to provide a data mine to the money-making businesses. That becomes an interesting downward data spiral for Google.
My old company looked into GA Premium or whatever they call the paid version and it was a lot of money. Could I be remembering right that for our portfolio of properties it was going to be something on the order of $100,000/year for the fancy paid version of GA for a portfolio of 26 hotels and a handful of other properties with a web presence?
I've got to think that even at $5/month at least half of the GA properties go dark. At $50/month, 90%.
