They probably thought the .com version would be better - http://www.updowner.com/googlecom/google.com

I must say I have been having good fun using non-google alternatives over the past few weeks.  That drop can't just be down to me though  ;)

Purely anecdotal, but my UK Bing/yahoo traffic is up substantially.
