YOU GUYS!!  I'm so stupidly excited about this!

Did you know that there is such a thing as kayak racing? And you kayak on rivers to get to the next point? I didn't! I was lamenting that I really wanted to get back into triathlon but absolutely hate bike riding with cars and then someone told me of the MR340.

340 miles on the Missouri River over two days. I probably should start with something a bit less, but I kinda want to do this just to finish it! Since my elbows are shot, I use a kayak that is pedal powered (Hobie Revolution 13 if you're interested.)

I'd have to train hard to make it. But what an experience!!!

Water Cooler / Anyone traveling to see the solar eclipse on April 8th?

I'm getting my little camper and heading to southeast Missouri -- the north fork of the White River, to be exact. Gonna flyfish for some trout while I'm there and see the 4.5 minutes of solar eclipse as well.

I went to Grand Island, Nebraska during the last eclipse and it was only 2 minutes. It was wild to see the animals change to nocturnal behaviors. And it *felt* significantly cooler. Really interesting.

I can't wait to see what it will do this time.

Reading a thing today about United HealthCare who was recently down due to Ransomware.

Someone hacks the system and shuts things down. Then, they contact the company saying "Pay us and we will give your system back?"

How often do the ransomers actually keep their promise after getting the money?
Or do the ransomers just take the money and leave?
Are they ever caught and brought through the legal system?
And is there insurance to pay the ransom?
And if they do pay the ransom, doesn't it just make ransomers ransom more?

And I sh## you not, the link downloaded an excel sheet. Are you f###ing kidding me? In 2023? Sorry RC.

I have to say this could be ground breaking for people with disabilities to be able to navigate with their eyes. But why do the goggles have to be so huge? Also...it's corded?

We had golf ball sized hail just south of here.  Lightening like I've never seen, tornado sirens went off twice yesterday. And, 30 miles away, they had softball sized hail.

It is rather long, but they did get quite a few things right:  giant televisions and computers being used in the home.

They missed the boat on a 30 hour workweek and a month of vacation being the norm in the US.  (And the LOUD teletype machine in the kitchen just kills me. ;D )

I dug my Great Grandmother's Singer out of the basement.  It was built in 1892 and purrs along like it was just made.  The last two years has just been grueling, and I just needed something fun to take my mind off it.

I tried to make a video that didn't suck and might even get watched to the end.  That's tough to do with a sewing video.  Be brutally honest.
