Hardware & Technology / Ditching iPhone switching to Samsung Galaxy S3
« on: September 03, 2012, 11:42:37 AM »
I've had an Apple iPhone for I can't remember how long.

With the shambles of the Samsung case it became apparent to me the Samsungs were cheaper iPhones (not really but the court case made me look).

My new phone arrives tomorrow.

If you have a Samsung Galaxy SIII or S3 or whatever you call it, what do you think of it? Any tips on making it better, last longer, cool apps etc.?

Traffic / Facebook blocking friend requests
« on: April 03, 2012, 10:25:33 AM »
I just received a message from Facebook saying I am not allowed to add friends for 7 days.

How ridiculous is that. The Facebook naughty step.

It's like a red rag to a bull though, I don't know if I am more pissed off at Facebook for doing it, or the asshats who sent in the requests. Given that I followed my "formula" these would not be just random people.

Water Cooler / a4uexpo in Munich
« on: May 21, 2011, 11:39:44 PM »
I am heading over to Munich for the a4uexpo from the 5th to 8th June and I was wondering who else from in here was planning on going? Always up for a few beers and a chat.

Never been to Munich before, any places to see/avoid?

I've just logged into a blog to find that WP 3.03 is now available, and I've only just finished upgrading them all to 3.0.2.

Why do they do this to me

The say it :

Water Cooler / World Cup woe
« on: December 02, 2010, 08:09:39 PM »
Given that neither England won the 2018 World Cup bid and USA the 2022 bid I think the method for choosing the venue stinks.

What I am more annoyed about though is the millions of pounds it cost for England to put their bid together.

In the Eurovision song contest for every year since I can remember since Tony Blair took the UK into the Iraq war the song contest has become one of those political mechanisms used for countries to let the UK know how they felt. Again, it's a waste of money entering the competition, but if we pulled out it would have far reaching ramification.

The majority of the FIFA representatives who chose the two countries couldn't give two hoots about football, or Prince William, Beckham or anything. They hate the media here in the UK more than anything, the timing of the Panorama program put paid to the chances, it was a done deal long before the presentations today.

Thank you UK media, you lost the bid for us, why couldn't you have just been two faced, like the delegates, until after we won and then put the program out.

Pah, it's so annoying.
