That is an amusing stat, but I have to wonder if it is real or just people having fun with a survey?
I would always wonder that about some of the absurd questions reportedly asked at the Yosemite visitor center.
My experience is that if you take the completely ridiculous ones, 10-20% are clueless questioners and 80-90% are info desk people who are missing the joke. But there's still the 10-20%
I often here of crazy questions and think "Sounds like something I would ask." On Saturday the wildlife team had a booth set up for Earth Day with a plastic bear skull. I was sorely tempted to go up and ask her if it was real plastic.
